We have managed to avoid another price increase this year. All lesson fees remain the same. These charges are very reasonable if compared to a lot of private tuition rates of £33.00 an hour and up!
Bills are sent out to students before the half term holiday of each school term. This means that you have part of the first half term (approximately 4 weeks) of lessons before you are expected to pay for the whole terms lessons (approximately 12 weeks).
It is expected that all tuition bills are paid within two weeks of receipt. Lesson bills which are not settled promptly may be subject to an extra charge of up to 10% to cover additional administrative costs.
Any lessons that are billed for in one term but not taken for a valid reason, will be deducted as a lesson credit from the following terms bill.
If you cannot make a lesson and give the teacher a days notice, you will not be charged for that lesson. Your lesson 'credit' will then carry over to the following term and be deducted from that invoice. If a teacher has to cancel a lesson, you will not be charged for the lesson.
Group Music Theory lessons are held subject to demand (for Harrogate Grammar School pupils only) during Monday lunchtimes (1.35-2.05pm) for 10 weeks a term and are charged at £35.00 a term.(HGS pupils only at present) The books required cost extra. The sole aim of these lessons is to prepare students for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Grade 5 Theory of Music examination. Ask Mr. Kemp at HGS for more details.
If you require ABRSM music theory lessons but do not attend HGS, we can offer individual lessons.
- Most lessons are individual but if there is sufficient demand, a group lesson may be arranged at a reduced hourly fee.
- There is a £10.00 music school membership fee payable by everyone before lessons commence. If for any reason tuition is not possible to arrange for you, the £10.00 membership fee will be refunded if you have not received any lessons from us.
- Do contact us and we will do all we can to make arrangements to suit your situation.
There are usually vacancies for more pupils. However, occasionally you may be asked to be placed on a waiting list.
We will do all we can to get you started as soon as is possible.
